If you've been diagnosed with sleep apnea, like me, you were presented with a catalog of CPAP machines and masks from various vendors that was overwhelming. Honestly, I don't remember seeing this product at all because I don't think I looked past the first couple items because the prices were mind blowing. If I recall correctly, there wasn't anything on the list of masks that were under $50.
I was so overwhelmed and unsure of what to pick that I told my doctor to give me the best bang for my bucks and he gave me the Philips base unit and some mask that made me look like a F14 jet pilot. Not only did I pay well over $400 (insurance covered most of the cost), but there was a 50% chance I would wake up with the mask on the floor because I would tear it off in my sleep. If this sounds like you, then BUY this mask NOW! Even better, If you've been diagnosed with sleep apnea and are in the purchasing stage of the treatment then tell your doctor that you don't need a mask because you are buying it on Amazon for 80% less. I wish I did.
This mask comfortably rests slightly on your nostrils and then softly fills them to ensure there aren't any leaks (see www.healthcare.philips.com/main/homehealth/sleep/optilife/default.wpd for more info). Once you have the correct fitting with the nostril piece there are no air leaks! No more sounding like a tire going flat!
The straps on my old mask used to leave marks and indentations on my forehead. This was caused by over tightening the straps to ensure there weren't any leaks. As I mentioned, the nose plugs on this mask will ensure no leaks prior to strapping yourself in and the straps on this model just holds the mask in place as opposed to compressing the mask on your face.

Customer service seems to be obsolete nowadays and most sellers just provide service, but Health Store and More provides WORLD CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is the best! No more embarrassing strap marks on the face in the AM and a whole lot less noisy leaking air at night!
